Double cleansing your skin is ubiquitous with the K-Beauty regimen and has since become very common with the American cleansing routine. First, one takes off makeup using an oil based cleanser. Then the skin is cleansed with a cleanser that is befitting one's skin type, using a cream cleanser or a gentle foaming cleanser. Finding a good oil based cleanser is vitally important. If you are looking for a good, natural oil based cleanser, read on for the review below.
Blü Fern was born of the idea that beauty isn't something you make, it is something that exists already inside of you & around you. With this idea in mind, the creators of Blü Fern made a line of products that use the beauty found in nature to enhance the beauty you already possess. Good 'clean' beauty that lets your inner light shine through. Their products heal, calm, hydrate, protect and balance the skin with minimal ingredients and no fillers. It is about nourishing, renewing and caring for the whole self. They believe that everyone has an ability to make a real impact on our world, simply by participating in their lives. Based in Austin, TX, a city that is welcoming, vibrant and full of life. Blü Fern mingles and grows, invests in the trails, trees and the spirit of the community. They partner with a few organizations in an effort to keep the city and environment flourishing. These organizations are:
Recently I tried an excellent oil cleanser from Blü Fern, their Nourishing Oil Cleanser. Use this cleanser daily for dry, dehydrated, mature, normal or some sensitive skin types. It can be used alone or paired with their Hydrating Milk Cleanser. The Blu Fern Nourishing Oil Cleanser cleans and removes makeup, toxins and surface impurities (dirt & pollution) while helping to restore the skin's natural moisture barrier. It has the healing powers of Murumuru Butter, Rosehip Oil and Blü Fern's Nourishing Complex to help protect your skin from the outside environmental factors and let your 'inner beauty' shine through. This plant-based cleanser is lovingly handcrafted in small-batches in Austin, TX. It doesn't contain synthetic chemicals, parabens, toxins, fillers or artificial fragrances. Also, this product was not tested on animals.
The Nourishing Oil Cleanser contains the following main ingredients:
This cleansing oil can be used daily as part of a double cleansing regimen or alone as a regular cleanser for dry, dehydrated, mature, normal and/or (some) sensitive skin types. Pour a small amount onto your palm or facial sponge and massage onto dry skin. Gently clean away makeup, toxins, impurities and the stress of the day. Rinse with warm water Use alone or pair with Blü Fern Hydrating Milk Cleanser.
Usually I find it difficult to like oil based cleansers. I find them heavy and usually too oily or greasy. Lately I have been using spray makeup removers. However, this one didn't feel too oily when it went on, even though it is completely made from natural oils. I think it is because of the oils it is made from or the way it is emulsified. I applied it then mixed it around to remove my makeup, I took off my heavy eye makeup with cotton pads so as not to have that coming off with water in my eyes. Then, I mixed the cleanser with water and removed it. It came off very easily with water. My skin actually felt pretty clean. I felt I could have likely just have used this cleanser as part of a single cleansing regimen. However, I like a double cleansing routine, so then I went on to use the Blü Fern Hydrating Milk Cleanser. If you have dry skin, dehydrated or mature skin, and are looking for a more natural cleanser, then using this cleanser will likely make the perfect cleansing ritual for you. This cleanser helps to protect the natural moisture barrier, which means skin feels clean but not stripped of moisture and is left feeling protected. However, if you do have sensitive skin I would do a patch test first because it does contain a lot of natural botanical extracts. My daughter has very sensitive skin with atopic dermatitis/eczema and would never be able to use this cleanser. It would give her a rash or cause her to breakout. I guess you have to look at the ingredients list first, which is available on the website. Just because something is natural does not mean it will necessarily be less allergenic for you.
