Blü Fern Hydrating Milk Cleanser

The other day I mentioned that double cleansing your skin has become  practically ubiquitous with the K-Beauty regimen and has since developed into being very common with the American cleansing routine. First, one takes off makeup using an oil based cleanser. Then the skin is cleansed with a cleanser that is befitting one's skin type, using a milky cream cleanser or a gentle foaming cleanser. I reviewed a wonderful oil based cleanser and today I will be reviewing a very good milky cream cleanser that is good for normal, dry, sensitive and mature skin types. Read on for my review.

The other day I reviewed the Blü Fern Nourishing Oil Cleanser. I mentioned that it is a great first step in a double cleansing routine for normal, dry, sensitive and mature skin types. Today I would like to discuss the Blü Fern Hydrating Milk Cleanser. This cleanser is a daily cleanser that works well for normal, dry or sensitive skin types. It contains Aloe Vera, Coconut Milk, Brown Algae, and Oat Protein to boost the cleanser's ability to detoxify, soothe, hydrate and nourish the skin. Use it daily as part of your double cleansing routine with the Nourishing Cleansing Oil or alone to leave your skin feeling soft, hydrated and balanced. This non foaming milky cleanser uses the power of flowers to calm irritation, soothe and moisturize the skin. It has been handcrafted and made in small batches in Austin, TX. It does not contain any synthetic chemicals, parabens, toxins, fillers, artificial fragrances or underwent any animal testing. 

The following ingredients in this cleanser help calm, nourish and hydrate the skin: 

• Aloe Vera Juice: rejuvenates and hydrates the skin 
• Rosemary Extract & Evening Primrose Oil: soothe irritated red skin 
• Coconut Milk: provides antibacterial protection, elasticity and hydration
• Allantoin: provides a calming emollient for moisturizing dry skin 
• Brown Algae Extract: detoxifies and hydrates the skin
• Amazonian Lily Extract & Oat Protein: soothe and calm irritated skin 
• Hibiscus Flower Extract: gently exfoliate and provide anti-aging properties

To use, pour a small amount onto the palm of your hand (or a facial sponge). Then gently apply to face and gently wash away dirt, impurities and stress of the day. For best results use following Blü Fern Nourishing Oil Cleanser. 

I usually do not use milky cleansers, except during the winter months when my skin has become drier. So this cleanser fits right in at this time. It is something I found myself doing a double cleanse with, as I feel it is not adequate enough to really take off heavy makeup. However, using it after the Nourishing Oil Cleanser is perfect. It really leaves skin feeling soft, hydrated and supple. There isn't any water in the cleanser. The first and primary ingredient is Aloe Vera Juice, which helps to hydrate the skin. It also contains Glycerin, a humectant that will help to attract water to the skin and hydrate it. And, it also contains Coconut Oil, which will help to moisturize the skin. The majority of the ingredients in this product are very soothing and calming to irritated skin. Which makes this a great cleanser for skin whose natural moisture barrier has been compromised. I did find this cleanser very soothing to my dry skin and found that it helped make it feel less dry and more hydrated. 

I will note that there are a good number of natural botanical extracts, so if you do have sensitive skin I would do a patch test on your skin first before using it on your face. You are just as likely to have a reaction from natural extracts as you are from anything 'chemical'. Remember that everything is made from the same elements on the periodic table, some are just synthesized in a laboratory. My daughter has very sensitive skin and cannot use anything like this. Just my $0.02.
