I don't normally use cleansing butters in the summer. Usually I find them heavy and and I am fighting off acne lesions. However, I received this product in my BoxyCharm Luxe box for June and absolutely loved it. I wanted to review it and let you know you much I loved it. This is the best cleansing butter I have ever used.
ELEMIS Superfood AHA Glow Cleansing Butter is a glow-getting facial cleanser that removes every last trace of makeup, daily pollutants and grime to reveal a healthy-looking radiance. It contains a unique blend of fermented Pumpkin enzymes and Acerola Cherry (naturally rich in AHAs) that help to brighten skin. Mango Butter and Chia Seed Oil (rich in omega fatty acids) nourish and hydrate the skin. This brightening, buttery formula can be used as a daily cleanser, a deep conditioning mask or as a hydrating makeup remover for the eyes and face. The fermented nature of the pumpkin increases the availability of its nutrients, which is a bi-product of Pumpkin harvesting. Elemis tested this cleansing butter on 129 people over 2 weeks in 2019. Here are the results of that trial:
- 93% agreed this product did not leave their face feeling dry or stripped.
- 95% agreed this product helped remove their makeup effectively.
- 95% agreed this product left their skin smooth when used as a deep mask
How To Use This Product: To use as a makeup remover, apply to a cotton pad and wipe gently over the face and eyes, To use as a daily cleanser, massage a coin-sized amount onto dry skin and rinse off with with warm water. To use as a deep cleansing mask, apply a thin layer to the face and for for 1 minute before rinsing.
I love this cleansing butter and found that it effectively removes makeup instantly and immediately, I didn't even have to double cleanse afterward because all traces of my makeup had been removed, This is highly unusual for a cleansing butter. Also, even though it has AHAs, it can be used on the eye area without any fear of stinging. I love how well it removes makeup without leaving any residue on the face, after leaving it on the skin for a few seconds and then massaging ti around, start cleansing the skin by splashing warm water on the skin to remove the cleansing balm. Then when makeup is completely removed, rinse face in slightly warm water to soothe the skin, Skin will be soft and makeup free. I think from now on I will be a convert to a cleansing balm. They aren't as difficult as I thought they would be,
